Red White & Blue Invitational 2017
Pinehurst is often referred to as “The Cradle of American Golf.” This cradle was founded on the masterfully crafted golf courses designed by Donald Ross. These courses command a certain reverence from the golfers daring enough to tee it up among the whispering pines. They have challenged championship fields, transformed great golfers into legends, and for over a decade provided a stage for golf’s next generation of stars to shine. From the iconic Putter Boy, to the statue of Payne Stewart’s fist pump after winning the 1999 U.S. Open, the deeply rooted traditions of Pinehurst are unrivalled by any other resort in America.
For the second consecutive year, the Southern Pines area will host a Regional Championship field over Fourth of July weekend – one month prior to the heralded U.S. Kids Golf World Championship. The Red White & Blue Invitational is the tenth addition to the Regional Championship schedule. This tournament provides a great opportunity for players and their families to take in everything the Pinehurst area has to offer before the Teen World Championship and World Championship.
Host courses for the Teen World Championship and World Championship will offer players a special rate throughout the week leading up to the Red White & Blue Invitational. This will allow participants additional time to familiarize themselves with the courses they will play during the pinnacle events.
The latest and most notable addition to the area is the new U.S. Kids Golf Academy at Longleaf Golf & Family Club. Programs developed through nearly 20 years of leading the world in kids golf makes the academy the ultimate destination for young players to learn, improve and enjoy the game.
